Water science is broad and multi-faceted. It’s studied by experts not just in natural and physical sciences, but also in social science, engineering, public health, to name a few. The MSU Water Alliance was created to bring these disciplines together and encourage collaboration to solve problems.
That’s where the three hubs come in. These interest and affinity groups are places where experts can coalesce around ideas and work together. Since they’re all connected by water, they’re meant to be fluid, so that people and ideas can move among the hubs rather than being constrained by boundaries.
Our current hubs are focused on achieving real outcomes:
- Supply sustainable food, water and energy: Matt Schrenk
- Sustain aquatic ecosystems and build resilience: Jo Latimore and Michael Wagner
- Ensure water security for healthy people, animals and planet: Amber Pearson and Wade Syers
