Water-Related Fellowships

MSU offers multiple fellowships to support graduate students working in water-related fields. A fellowship provides financial support to graduate students to pursue their graduate studies without associated teaching or research responsibilities. 

Available Fellowship Programs

The following graduate student fellowships are offered through the MSU Graduate School:

Clifford Humphrys Fellowship for Preservation of Water Quality in The Great Lakes

This fellowship will benefit students enrolled in any graduate program at MSU studying or doing research on water quality, especially as it relates to the Great Lakes and Lake Michigan in particular.

Rose Graduate Fellowship in Water Research

The Rose Graduate Fellowship in Water Research will benefit students enrolled in any graduate program at MSU to help to address the looming global water crisis and support the next generation of scientists who will help us solve water problems here in Michigan, the Great Lakes, nationally, and globally. 

Schrems West Michigan Trout Unlimited Graduate Fellowship

This fellowship opportunity is for graduate students studying coldwater fisheries or streams as part of their thesis or dissertation.

William W. and Evelyn M. Taylor Endowed Fellowship for International Engagement in Coupled Humans and Natural Systems

MSU graduate students, who are performing research related to the sustainability of fish, wildlife, or water resources using an integrated or joint approach that links humans with their natural environment, are encouraged to apply for the William W. and Evelyn M. Taylor Endowed Fellowship for International Engagement in Coupled Humans and Natural Systems fellowship.

William W. Taylor & Henry A. Regier Great Lakes Fisheries Graduate Fellowship

Applicants must be students enrolled in a graduate program at MSU, who are performing research related to the sustainability of fish, wildlife, or water resources using an integrated or joint approach that links humans with their natural environment.
