Fate of the Earth: Our Waters Symposium Day 1

Fate of the Earth: Our Waters Symposium Day 1

March 20, 2025
Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center

Join us for an exciting two-day symposium where we'll explore innovative ways to protect our water resources and enhance human well-being.  MSU and our partners are solving real-world water problems for Michigan communities and beyond. Come share your ideas and learn more at the Fate of the Earth: Our Waters symposium.

The goals of the symposium are to bring together scientists, students and community members to discuss sustainability; explore the challenges and opportunities of improving human well-being while protecting the environment; and highlight collaborations between MSU and its partners who are focused on solving environmental problems, particularly those related to water.

Thursday, March 20: Public Symposium

We invite all to join us on March 20 as we explore how to work together to solve water-related problems. March 20 will feature:

  • Welcome by MSU President Kevin M. Guskiewicz
  • Reading by Lansing’s Poet Laureate Ruelaine Stokes
  • Keynote presentation on Moving towards a Water-secure Future by Dr. Annalise Blum
  • Presentations on water research from the MSU community and beyond

We welcome submissions for oral and poster presentations for the symposium. Presentations and poster sessions will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Kellogg Center. We seek abstracts that address the symposium goals and are focused on this year’s theme: Our Waters. Authors are encouraged to address collaborative, interdisciplinary, and/or engaged approaches to solving water problems, although any water-related topic is welcome.

Abstract submissions due February 21st.
