The Michigan Network for Environmental Health & Technology (MiNet) is a statewide network of laboratories that use advanced PCR-based methods to assess recreational water quality, identify sources of fecal contamination in surface water, and monitor SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater. MSU has served as the hub of the network since its creation as the Michigan qPCR Network in 2015. The network provides timely data to local health departments, utilities, state, and tribal partners in order to better protect human health.

- Beaches: Is it safe to swim? Network labs are working across the state to assess recreational water quality. Data for all beaches monitored in Michigan, including those monitored by MiNet labs, are available via the Michigan BeachGuard website:
- COVID-19: What’s going on with the coronavirus? Members of MiNet have been monitoring wastewater to help local health departments and MDHHS understand and track the COVID-19 pandemic. Data are available on two state dashboards:
